It is going to be a very difficult task, not because ACN is better or performing above average but because of the network of election manipulation and rigging mechanism put in place by ACN. If PDP must win Lagos the following must be taken into consideration in addition to uniting the party
1) The obas and baales are the primary agent for rigging of elections in Lagos
With local government paying the obas and Baales and most of the council chairpersons are members of ACN
2) Ensure the neutrality of DPOs of police in election matters. Policemen should be transfer across the state during election do not allow those who are within the station areas to man polling booths around their areas. They are part of the manipulation.
3) Ensure that all igbo oro( Sacrd shrine where thumb printing are done are close to their members during the election
4) Overnight movement of people must be stopped, placing ban on movement on election day is not working people are moved some days before particularly from Benin republic and Badagry
if you considered the above issues you would see why it will be difficult to wrestle Lagos out of the hand of ACN.
All hope is not loss, money play a very crucial role in election, but PDP should offer a better people oriented policies for Lagosians, capitalize on ACN policy downside such as the tolling of Lekki road, forceful collection of lands from the local communities i.e. Akodo in Ibeju Lekki, Ajah , Eti osa, Abijo, etc. They should blow this matter out of propotion with the aim of building grassroot support.
