This professor simply does not undersntad the science of HIV. A cure in current research progess is now said to be within sight, but there are still major barriers. The issue of a cure of already infected people has to do with killing HIV particles that have sequestered into a number of “protected” cells and tissues of the body which are hard to penetrate. so even when the virus is suppressed in the blood (undetectable viral load) by anti retroviral drugs, once a patient stops the durgs, HIV particles taking refuge in these cells and tissues rebound. Anti retoviral drugs so far have no effect on hiding virus, so it is higly unlikely that Prof Ibeh’s plant extract taken orally can have the opposite effect. He may have seen improvement in the weight of patients, but that is NO CURE. He is poorly informed if he is equating improved health outcome with cure.
