No fewer than nine lawmakers in Ogun State stormed the Labour Party Secretariat in Adatan area of Abeokuta, yesterday, where the registration exercise of the new members of the party held to announce their defection to the party.
The defectors, who included two federal lawmakers and seven state assembly members, were formerly members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peoples Party of Nigeria, PPN.
The lawmakers who defected were, a member of the House of Representatives who represents Yewa South/Ipokia constituency, Abiodun Akinlade; his counterpart from Imeko-Afon/Yewa North constituency, Rasaki Adewusi and former Deputy Speaker of the stateAssembly of Assembly, Remmy Hassan, representing Odogbolu constituency; Samson Onademuren, representing Ijebu North-East and Khadihat Adeleye-Oladipo representing Ifo constituency 11, were members ofthe defunct ACN before their defection.
Also on the list of the defectors were, Joseph Adegbesan, representing Ijebu North; Simeon Adeleye from Imeko-Afon and JohnObafemi, from Remo North, all members of the PPN before they announced their defection to the Labour Party, while Abiodun Akovoyon from Ipokia, who was a member of the PDP, was among the defectors.
