President Goodluck Jonathan is the best democratic President we ever had – only the Late Yar’ Adua could be equated to him. He is a complete gentleman who displays high level of discipline and humility. A man like GEJ would have been an asset to a better nation – a country of like minds, where processes are allowed to flow.
Why then do we tend to hate our President so much? His first offense is that he is a round peg in a square hole. The simple truth is that Nigerians do not deserve a gentleman as a ruler. The only person that could succeed in ruling this nation is a man who has enough talent in brutality and who possess enough shock absorber to receive insults (even from imbeciles!). The other offense being that he wasn’t prepared to rule this nation. It was a duty he got through destiny and under serious duress, therefore his vision on how to rule the country is blur.
What do we do in the circumstance? As Nigerians we need to appreciate and pray for the President. If he succeeds we are better for it; if he fails, we add him to the list of failed Presidents and continue suffering.
Obama is not better than GEJ. Obama’s luck is that he found himself in the midst of human beings while GEJ found himself in the midst of animals!!!
